ALEX MILLER

Alex Miller is a Cleveland based Graphic Designer. Alex is grew up in Baltimore, Maryland and is pursuing her bachelors degree at the Cleveland Institute of Art.

Design is a functional piece of art. I gravitate towards design that targets an audience rather than a consumer. I enjoy the process of designing a piece that gives people something to do, or to learn; this is different than giving someone something to buy. In many cases this can overlap, like in games or interactive packaging. What sets my design apart from others is the audiences ability to view my design as an installation, an addition or interruption to their overall experience of a space. I am often asking myself, How can I inform those who want to listen?

My products and instillations inform people about the causes that I value; causes that they value. These themes are not always something the out of body for the viewer, but allow the viewer to learn about themselves. If I can use mechanical, and artistic methods to create a piece that proves to be functional, that is Design.
